Yesterday found us rushing around getting ready for our departure from Sarasota tomorrow morning. This sketch is from my art journal.  It was done at home while watching Dexter and looking at items on the bookcase.  ;-)

Belated sketch

Kay and I went to Art and Frame of Sarasota Saturday afternoon and came out with all kinds of goodies.  One of my purchases was the Ahab pen from Noodlers, a fountain pen with a flexible nib so you can vary the amount of ink that feeds through by the angle and pressure placed on nib.  I'm still experimenting...I have the ink stained hands to prove it!  Yesterday afternoon I went to the art festival here in Sarasota and was inspired to do the fellow above when looking at the art of two exhibitors,  Bruce Holwerda and Vladimir Pailodze.  I used the Noodler pen and and ultra fine point Bic Mark-it on top of a grungy acrylic blot on watercolor paper.
